Join Modern Fossils at Plein Air Sloatsburg's Juried Show and Reception on Saturday June 19th from 2-4pm! All of the artists who started their artworks during the Plein Air Event in May will be bringing their finished pieces to be juried... And some will win prizes!

We cast one of the Sloatsburg Storm Drain Covers using plaster and some of the refuse we collected while cleaning up around town. This Fossil captures an exact moment of time in Sloatsburg and it is actually created from the town itself. It is a direct artifact of Sloatsburg on May 16th 2021.

As Environmental artists we look beyond the typical Plein Air landscape and use items from the actual environment as the materials to create our work. Our pieces are not representations of the moment in time, they ARE the actual moments in time, presented as works of art.
